WASTE NO WASTE project partners:

VG Poduzetnicki centar d.o.o. / VG Entrepreneurship centre L.t.d. is a local development agency of the Town of Velika Gorica. Although operated through the private company law, this public company delivers advisory and other services, projects, development measures and actions to serve the local 2.500 SMEs, 4.400 agriculture households, 150 NGO associations and other local business entities. Being active in SME, rural, tourism and social services' development, it also has some experience in EU-funded cross-border partnerships and strong connections with the civil sector and youth. Having been enrolled in many strategic activities regarding the waste management system of the Town of Velika Gorica, VG Poduzetnicki centar is both the author and the overall lead partner of the WASTE NO WASTE project.

 

Town of Velika Gorica initiated the WASTE NO WASTE project. Velika Gorica has a surface of 566 square kilometers in it's urban and rural area, that is inhabited by around 70.000 residents. It has an organized and regulated communal waste landfill of "Mraclinska Dubrava" in the outskirts of the town, which is - by some local development goals - forecasted to become a modern waste management center.

Velika Gorica is the center of Zagrebačka county and the seventh largest city in Croatia by its population. It spreads through the lowlands of Turopolje, one part of Posavina and the hilly terrain of Vukomeričke gorice. It is the town of ecological, green & clean surroundings, with its core urban settlement and the lovley rural countryside. As the project partner, it contributes to the experience and know how through its expert environment protection team and financially supports VG Cistoca in the project-related funding.    



Sisacko-moslavacka zupanija
is implementing institutional and organizational improvements into the county's waste management system, which is regulated within the "Waste management plan of Sisačko-moslavačka county". Surfacing 4.463 square kilometers, it is by size one of the biggest counties in the Republic of Croatia. It has a population of 183.730 in 6 cities and 13 municipalities. Sisačko-moslavačka county is the area of the highest density of industrial establishment, employment and manufacture in central Croatia.

The county holds many natural habitats of wildlife, yet also some oil drillings, pipeline and refinery representing one of the largest company operating in Sisak, together with the largest mineral fertilizer producing company in Eastern Europe and Croatia (Petrokemija, Kutina). The partner's environment protection expert shall secure that the interests and the aims of this project partner are always represented equally to the other partners in the WASTE NO WASTE partnership.  



Individualized responsibility and production of reproducible waste is one of the main measures suggested fo the "integral system of waste management" represented in the "Environment protection program of Zagrebačka county". Zagrebačka županija is interested in widening the environment protection through WASTE NO WASTE project campaign and participates as one of the co-funding partners to the VG Poduzetnički centar. 

There are 309.696 inhabitants residing in 9 cities and 25 municipalities streatching over the surface of 3.078 square kilometers of Zagrebačka county. The plants of “Chromos” in Samobor (chemical), “Dalekovod” in Velika Gorica (electric), the “INA” oil and gas drillings in Ivanic Grad and Dugo Selo, the meat industry “PIK Vrbovec” in Vrbovec, “Pliva” in Savski Marof (pharmaceutical) and many others are situated in Zagrebacka county.


VG Čistoća represents the core of the cross-institutional partner team, giving the technical support to the infrastructure improvements implemented by and through the project as well as the know-how of the local utility directly responsible for the waste management in Velika Gorica being the epicentre of the WASTE NO WASTE project. VG Čistoća as a partner performs some additional research and follow-up on the implementation of the new underground container system for reproducible waste collection. 

 

Zelena mreza aktivistickih grupa (ZMAG) is a non profit civil organization aiming to  environment protection, saving the natural and cultural heritage and raising awarenes for civil initiatives. The experience in educational activities of ZMAG's members has contributed to a better definition of PR-tools for various and specific target groups within the frame of WASTE NO WASTE campaign (children). ZMAG will run the workshops for the pupils of elementary schools. Some of the workshops will be held at he Recycled Estate of ZMAG located in Vukomerić.

 

Zelena akcija Micevec has been involved in the "green monitoring" project with Zagrebacka county, performing the surveilance of the ilegal waste dumps on the territory of Zagrebačka county and City of Zagreb as project partners. Within the WASTE NO WASTE project, this local environmental NGO association shall utilise its experience in public work within the activity of Info days on the territories of Zagrebačka and Sisačko-moslavačka counties.

The especially designed "mobile" info-desk whall travel throughout the project implementation area, distributing the leaflets, brochures, posters and other educational material, performing polls, hosting some interviews and many more for educating the public on each individual's role in the common struggle for the cleaner environment. 

 

ACEGAS-APS S.p.A. is one of the biggest communal / utility companies in Italy, with its 1.500 workers. It manages waste bestowal in cities of Trieste and Padova and possesses waste experiences in waste management in its respective area of operating. ACEGAS-APS already shaped some printed communication tools in their attempts to raise awareness of their citizens to the ever present issue of reproducible waste and its separate collection, yet should also benefit from the practices brought by the cross-institutional and cross-country partnership of the WASTE NO WASTE project.  

 

The project is run by the Executive Committee and the Public Relations Committee, both of which are constituted of the project partners' representatives.
